Tandem
Plays a Mac’s audio through several speakers in sync.
In testing.
Each line is one speaker playing the same sound. Tandem measures how late each one starts and lines them up.
Tandem sends a Mac’s audio output to AirPlay and wired speakers at the same time and corrects the delay of each speaker, so that they play in time. It includes bass management, an equaliser and delay measurement with the Mac’s microphone.
Tandem is in testing with a small group. It is not available yet. You can write to me to ask about it.

What it does
Multi-speaker output
Built-in speakers, AirPlay speakers and wired outputs receive the same stream.
Delay measurement
A test signal played through the room is recorded by the Mac’s microphone. From that recording Tandem measures each speaker’s delay and corrects it.
Bass management
Low frequencies go to the speaker best able to reproduce them.
Equaliser
Presets for flat, music, bass and treble.
Idle behaviour
Streaming stops when no audio is playing and resumes by itself.
Native app
Written in Swift for macOS, not a wrapper around a web view.
