Civesto

Case intake and evidence management for citizen traffic reports.

Open for pilots. Not yet live at any authority.

Open civesto.com

The Civesto police case queue, filtered to handheld phone reports. Demonstration data.

Civesto is a case-intake and evidence-management system for police forces, road authorities and municipalities. Citizens send recordings with the Civesto app. The system verifies and seals the evidence and presents each report to an officer for a decision.

It does not judge whether an offence has occurred. That stays with the authority.

Civesto is technically ready and open for pilots. It is not yet in live operation at any public authority, and no pilot has been completed.

What it does

  • One inbox for reports

Each recording arrives with its category, location, a partial plate reading and the status of its evidence checks. Reports can be filtered, sorted and assigned.

  • Evidence is verified and sealed

On upload the file receives a SHA-256 hash. The system checks metadata such as EXIF data, capture time and device information, and records the result of each check with the file.

  • An officer records the decision

Each report is validated, forwarded, acted on or closed by an officer. The legal basis and the officer’s note are stored with the case, and every action goes into the audit log.

  • Works with existing systems

A documented REST API and webhooks. Cases export as DATEX II, GeoJSON, CSV, XLSX or PDF.

  • Reports survive a bad connection

A report stays on the phone and is sent when the connection returns.

  • Roles and hosting

Operations, governance and IT users have separate permissions. It can run on the authority’s own infrastructure or on servers I operate, with the hosting country named in the contract.
